Facades made of FGC
The same decorative elements are used in the design of the building facade as in interior decoration. The only difference is in the material from which the decor is made. For facade decor elements, it is fiberglass concrete. Fiberglass concrete (FGC) is a type of fiberglass concrete and is made of fine-grained concrete (concrete matrix) and reinforcing fiberglass segments (fibers) evenly distributed over the volume of concrete of the product or its individual parts (zones). This material has high technological properties for molding products of almost any desired shape, has high bending strength, high impact strength, elasticity, crack resistance, water resistance, and, where necessary, a decorative surface.
FGC – fiberglass concrete is a composite material and at the same time combines the high compressive and impact strength inherent in cement mortars, which increases 10-12 times (due to fiberglass reinforcement), and the bending and tensile strength increased 4-5 times. Therefore, there is no doubt about the strength of complex products.
You can see fiberglass concrete facades of our production on buildings in many cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Lviv, etc.
FGC facades include elements of building facade decoration, such as cornice, molding, frieze, bracket, column and others.
A cornice (made of fiberglass concrete) is a protruding element of building decoration that separates the roof plane from the vertical wall plane.
Molding (made of fiberglass concrete) is a decorative detail in the form of an overhead convex strip. An additional function of this element is to protect the surface from mechanical damage.
Frieze (made of fiberglass concrete) is a narrow and long decorative plane used to highlight a part of the building facade.
Bracket (made of fiberglass concrete) is a cantilevered support part or structure that is a supporting element of protruding parts of the building and is a projection in the wall, often profiled and decorated (with decorative curls or other decorations). The mechanical principle of operation is the material’s resistance to chipping and shearing.
Column (made of fiberglass concrete) – a column, often cylindrical in shape. A column can support any massive architectural element (for example, an arch) or be a decorative ornament. Column elements: base, trunk (body), capital.
An arch (made of fiberglass concrete) is a curved beam of smooth orisons that carries a building structure.
