Production of stucco decor elements

For many centuries, stucco decoration has been one of the most versatile ways to decorate facades or interiors.
Stucco molding in the interior can be called the oldest tradition without any exaggeration. Its historical roots originate in Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. Modern design involves the use of stucco moldings in the interior in the form of individual elements that are assembled into a complete composition. With the use of decorative stucco moldings, your house, apartment or office will become unique, evoking associations with something elegant and luxurious. We bring to your attention several elements of stucco decor.
A cornice is a protruding element of interior and exterior decoration. With the help of a cornice, you can decorate the perimeter of the ceiling and hide irregularities both on the ceiling and at the junction with the walls.
A molding is a decorative detail in the form of an overlaid convex strip. Curly moldings imitating stucco moldings become a real highlight of the interior. They visually correct the proportions of the room and can be used to achieve the effect of a floating ceiling. Moldings can be used not only for wall decoration: they are great for decorating mirrors and ceilings, and are often used as panels.
In addition to being decorative, moldings are also functional, in particular, they are used for
– zoning the surface: dividing it into separate sections of various shapes (rectangular, square, curly, round), which can be painted in different colors or textured;
– masking unaesthetic details or poor quality finishes: moldings distract attention from defects, focusing the eye on themselves as the center of the composition.
Padugha is a spherical surface located above the cornice in the room. The pagoda creates a transition from the wall surface to the ceiling surface.
Rosette is an ornamental motif in the form of blossoming flower petals or several leaves of the same shape, arranged symmetrically and radially diverging from the core. This type of stucco decoration is often used as a chandelier frame, which is the main part of the ceiling composition. But today they are more widely used.
There are still types of rosettes:
– acanthus rosette – the petals are made like acanthus leaves alternating with arrows;
– a vortex rosette is a decorative shape with one-sided curved arcs of equal curvature spreading out from the center. Its compositional structure is similar to the swastika;
– umbrella rosette – in the form of an ellipse with rays;
– solar rosette – similar in structure to a vortex rosette.
Frieze – a decorative composition in the form of a horizontal strip or ribbon that crowns or frames a particular part of an architectural structure.
Balusters – a row (balustrade) of low curly columns in the form of columns (sometimes with carved decor) that support the railings of balconies, stairs, etc.
Capitol is the crowning part of a column or pilaster.
A pilaster is a vertical wall projection that usually has a base and a capital, thus conventionally depicting a column. A pilaster often repeats the parts and proportions of an orderly column. In terms of plan, pilasters can be rectangular and complex in shape.
The interior is decorated with plaster elements.
